A postpartum experience like no other.
Nurturing Connection, Empowering Parenthood, Growing Together in Nature.

"I absolutely loved joining my village each week. The guests were lots of fun, but the real highlight for me was beautiful bush locations and connection. Roxanne is amazing at holding space for us new mamas, encouraging us to be our authentic selves. The way she supported such honest, uplifting discussions really helped us to connect with one another on a deep level. I’m so glad that I found this little village, both for myself and my little one."

Be nourished and nurtured in nature

This is a time to slow down, be present, and connect, to yourself, your baby, the land and your village.

A weekly village to build connections and community.

A place to be seen, heard and to share the joys and hardships of the motherhood journey.

Weekly facilitated women’s circles. Connect deeply to nature and your baby through guided mindful bushwalks. Experts in topics including, yoga, child development, music, parenting, play, matrescence and more. Free access to additional Bush Play Villages during the term.

 Tea and a treat provided.

We gather again from Monday May 11th for 8 weeks.

What to Expect

Each village gathering is a little different and is shaped by the land, the weather,
our guest speakers, and the beautiful mamas and babes who join us.
We embrace flexibility, warmth, and connection.

Each week, we:

  • Begin with a guided, mindful walk to ground ourselves in nature.

  • Sit together in circle, sharing stories, reflections, and a cup of tea.

  • Welcome a guest who brings inspiration and wisdom to our village space.

There is always time to simply be — to connect, to breathe, and to find community.

Our Journey Together- An example

We open our village journey with a warm welcome, a mindful walk, and connection to self, nature, baby, and each other.
We share our birth stories in circle and create simple eco-paint prints of our babies’ tiny hands or feet. A group photo marks the beginning of our time together.

Each week we enjoy a mindful stroll under trees, followed by sharing in circle, enjoy tea and a treat.  Some circle themes include birth and postpartum stories, Matrescense, Navigating relationships after children.

Each term we are joined by local guests, some include doulas, music and mums and bubs yoga.

Places We Explore

Throughout the season, we wander and gather in some of Hobart’s most beautiful natural spaces:

  • Collinsvale, Domain, Cascade Gardens, Botanical Gardens, Lenah Valley, Montrose Foreshore, Howrah, Risdon Brook Dam, Waterworks Reserve, Kingston. Locations vary depending on guests, weather and participant locations but all are under 30 mins from Hobart.

“Cannot recommend the bush mamas postpartum village more highly for new mum's, especially early on! Perfect way to get out on country and do something for both you and your baby to connect and find your village.”

Navagating Matrescence
The village really met and exceeded my expectations. I met an amazing group of mamas who I connected with and
was able to share my motherhood journey with in beautiful locations around Hobart - all while bub got to enjoy the
benefits of nature and a more self aware Mama.
I absolutely loved the Village, the diversity of the guest speakers, beautiful locations I got to explore and being able to
share experiences with likeminded mums. It was very well organised and a big motivator to get out more with my bub
even though it might be cold or rainy.
It was just the right amount of women for it to be intimate, but still a big group. Such a safe place that I looked forward
to every week to share the highs and lows of this parenting journey

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to come for the whole term? Or can I join casually? Yes, a term commitment is required as continuity builds connection and community. This village runs weekly on a Thursday for 10 weeks. Casual sessions are not offered for this village..

Is it weekly? What if I miss a week? Yes. This village runs weekly on a Monday for 8 weeks. If you miss a session we can offer one credit valid for a Bush Play Village the following term.

What do we do each week? While each week is different, the general flow is a welcome and check in and mindful bushwalk, followed by a circle on various topics or a guest speaker. For half the sessions, we will be joined by expert guests which include yoga teachers, infant and child specialists and postpartum doulas. The sessions we don't have a guest joining us I will share on my topics of expertise, including play, nature and child development. I will also run extended circles on topics such as relationships after children. I am very aware of the group and babies and adapt the session flow as needed.

What happens if it's raining? We will change the location to one of our sites with shelter. If there is severe weather or any risk to our safety, the session will be held in a hall or rescheduled. You will receive a full refund if we need to cancel a session or you cannot make the rescheduled date.

Can I bring older siblings? It is not recommend to bring older siblings. This village is specifically curated for mum’s and babes under one and it may be challenging to participate with an older sibling in attendance. In saying that, if there is an odd week where you cannot find care for your older sibling they can attend and I will provided some age appropriate play opportunities for them.

The cost covers the facilitator and guests wages as well as insurance, general business expenses, a treat and tea.
